As a mother, grandmother, postpartum doula, advanced newborn care specialist, Happiest Baby Educator, and baby sleep expert, I see the needs of families, especially when there is a new baby in the home. When my daughter let me know that many of her friends were wondering if I could care for their baby or babies, I was surprised. She went on to explain that most do not have family members that live close by, or have anyone that they would trust caring for their most precious possession. And that is how North Star Newborns was born. We help protect newborns and infants by providing educated, experienced, fully vetted newborn care specialists, postpartum doulas, and registered nurses.

I have had a lifelong passion for working with infants, children, and their families. While in school obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology and family studies, I found my love for nannying when I began caring for a 4-week-old infant. This introduction to nannying catapulted my career and desire to work with children and families. To date, I have 15 years of nanny experience, two years of special education teaching experience, and over 5,000 hours working with infants under one year of age. I have worked with premature newborns and full-term newborns, including multiple sets of twins. Throughout the newborn phase, I adore helping families find rest and a sense of peace. I am passionate about helping families establish routines, including good and safe sleeping practices.

Since being a child, I have always been drawn to babies and kids. I remember longing for the day when I would have my own children. My caregiving career began as a babysitter at a young age and I served in the nursery at my church growing up. This led me to eventually lead the nursery for 7 years, spending countless incredible hours with babies and infants. At heart, I am a natural caretaker and my favorite memories in life have been from caring for others. It brings me great joy and fills my cup! I am a CNA and HHA and was a Home-health aide and Hospice aide for 8 years for a company where I provided one on one care for clients in their homes, a skill I am excited to bring to the table in meeting new families and caring uniquely and compassionately for their baby. I adore my husband. We have 4 kids~3 girls ages 13, 6, and 2, and a 6-month-old boy, having first-hand experience in feeding and good sleep habits with my own babies and I am so excited to be able to use my skills to help families with their little ones so they can get a good nights sleep and feel at peace with me there. I am passionate about being there for your family during the fourth trimester, helping you implement safe sleep practices and routines for your baby. I can’t wait to serve you and your baby uniquely.

Hi! I’ve been an OB RN for several years working in rural and high-acuity hospitals. I went into healthcare with the focus of becoming a labor and delivery nurse, and I absolutely love having the honor of being present for births and caring for patients during that time.
After having two of my own children (3yo & 1yo), I realized just how much support new families and newborns need as they walk through the tremendous transition that is bringing a child home. Working as a nurse and my own personal experiences have led me to realize my new passion, and that’s caring for newborns and their needs as well as providing support for their families.
I have experience in all different areas of obstetrics, hospital nursery care, newborn care, healthy sleeping habits, lactation, postpartum support, nanny care, and much more!
I love connecting and hearing people’s stories that brought them to where they are now, becoming parents. I have knowledge of best practice recommendations for newborn care and sleep, but also bring the realness aspect of being a mom myself to the table, and will help you figure out what works best for your family. I aim to help new parents gain confidence in their ability to care for their newborn while working together to conquer whatever individualized goals they may have for this exciting time of growth. I can’t wait to get to know you and your baby!

I’ve been blessed with a lifetime of caring for children and families and I hope my experience can be of service to you. This was such a blessing, and once my children were in school I knew I wanted to continue caring for infants and families!

Hi! While pursuing my bachelor’s degree I worked in childcare to get by. It quickly became a passion of mine! I have worked in childcare centers as well as for a nanny agency and as a private nanny, and I have worked primarily with infants over the last 6 years. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree I decided I wasn’t too keen on my field of study anymore. Soon after giving birth to my first child and having an amazing doula, I trained with DONA to become a birth doula myself! While I really enjoy that work, becoming a postpartum doula felt like more of a calling to me. I attended a yearlong mentorship and certification program through Manhattan Birth and learned so many valuable lessons along the way. In-depth training on trauma as well as breastfeeding has proved to be the most valuable to my clients thus far! I now have two littles who are my whole world, my youngest is almost 3 months. I am very well-versed in a multitude of postpartum experiences at this point, and look forward to assisting you in navigating yours!
