Jackie
Birth and Postpartum Doula
Jackie has been part of the North Star team for over 2 years now. She is the mother of 3 children, 3 dogs, and 1 cat! Her household keeps her very busy in the daytime, but she has a wonderful support system which allows her to help families primarily overnight. There is no feeling that compares to the serenity of rocking a precious little one to sleep in the early hours of the morning, knowing their parent(s) are getting solid restorative rest.
Jackie is a Certified Birth Doula (MCD) and Certified Postpartum Doula (MCPD) through Madriella Doula Network. She is also trained and has an active CPR and First Aid certification. Jackie is currently working on her Childbirth Educator and Breastfeeding Educator certifications’
Her passion is helping mothers through the beautiful and challenging journey that is Matrescence. Her own varied experiences with birth, birth trauma, the highs and lows of breastfeeding and motherhood fuel her passion for helping others through this transformative period. Jackie loves to tailor her care to support the needs of each individual family - every pregnancy, birth, baby, and postpartum time is its own unique experience, and needs vary greatly. Her approach is evidence based and science backed, but as holistic as possible. A mother’s intuition is a powerful thing! Jackie also believes in the power of prenatal breastfeeding education, and is always ready to help.
When Jackie isn’t serving families as a postpartum doula or engaging in coursework for her new credentials, she is outside with her children as much as possible! They enjoy gardening together as well as camping, hiking, and kayaking in the summer and sledding and ice skating in the winter. Indoors, Jackie enjoys baking anything and everything with her family, but especially sourdough (and she’d love to share with you, if you’d like).
