The first twelve months are a very tender and fragile time, and we embrace that by providing focused, gentle, and loving care. This, in turn, helps the parent(s) focus on what they need to do while we are there supporting their family.

Care Services

Newborn Care Specialists

A newborn care specialist (NCS) focuses exclusively on the care of your baby from birth through 12 months. At North Star Newborns, our newborn and infant care specialists provide one-on-one support tailored to the unique needs of your family. Their responsibilities are centered on gentle, attentive care for your baby—including feeding, diapering, bottle preparation and sterilization, maintaining a clean and orderly nursery space, and offering guidance on infant care and development.

By keeping the scope of care clearly focused, our specialists are able to stay calm, present, and fully attuned to your baby—creating a peaceful environment that benefits the entire household. Support is available for both daytime and overnight shifts, with the goal of helping parents rest and feel confident during this tender stage.

Postpartum Doula Care

A postpartum doula provides holistic care for the entire family during the early postpartum period. At North Star Newborns, our doulas support parents emotionally and physically as they adjust to life with a new baby. This includes newborn care education, sibling care, breastfeeding support, and guidance through the many changes that come after birth.

In addition to emotional support and infant care, postpartum doulas assist with light household tasks like laundry, meal prepping, and tidying—ensuring parents can rest and recover. All doulas are independent, fully vetted, insured professionals who have invested in specialized training in postpartum and lactation support.

Care is available during the day or overnight, with the goal of nurturing the whole family during this transformative time.

Lactation Support

Feeding your baby—whether by breast, bottle, or a combination—can come with questions, challenges, and a lot of emotion. Our team of experienced lactation professionals is here to provide non-judgmental, evidence-based support tailored to your feeding goals.

North Star Newborns offers care from both IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants) and Lactation Specialists, giving families access to varying levels of expertise depending on their needs. From latching and positioning to pumping, milk supply, and bottle-feeding strategies, we’re here to guide you through every step of the feeding journey.

Sleep Consulting

Rest is essential—for babies and their parents. Whether you’re navigating frequent night wakings, short naps, or tricky transitions, our sleep consultants are here to help bring calm and confidence back to bedtime.

At North Star Newborns, our certified Sleep Consultants work one-on-one with families to develop personalized, developmentally appropriate sleep plans that align with your parenting style and your child’s unique needs. We offer a gentle, supportive approach—no one-size-fits-all methods here—and we’re with you every step of the way.

From newborns to toddlers and beyond, we guide you through sleep education, schedule shaping, and troubleshooting so your whole family can get the rest they need.

Service Rates

Daytime Care

Call us when you need us! Care is provided for newborns and infants 0-12 months of age.

$57-67 Per Hour

Minimum 4 Hours

Overnight Care

Our clients and their babies thrive when we are in the home 4-7 days a week for overnights for two months or longer. Hourly rate is dependent on the experience of the care provider as well as their ability to commit multiple nights each week for an extended period to one family.

Need care provided for more than one? No problem! We provide on-site child care services for twins and more.

Day Rate: $70/Hr

Night Rate: $70-75/Hr
